I have been practising with Shyla the key differentiation since May 2019, now we have met for more than ten sessions , each session lasts at least one hour through Internet . We share our understanding about the key differentiations and how we applied them in our daily life. I observe that Shyla has an ability to offer empathy. There were at least three times when I shared my difficulties , pain and suffering, she listened silently, attentively and wholeheartedly , she breathed deeply , paused , did not say anything and just kept breathing, holding space for me . Then gently asked how I felt . I sensed that she was really stay with me and feeling my feeling which helped me to stay in the present moment and to stay with my feelings. With her support, I could get in touch with different layers of feelings and could find out the needs behind the feelings. It is very healing and nourishing as well as insightful. She has the capacity to hold the space for people . My need of support, clarity and understanding got met.Shyla embodies the essence of NVC in herself that she manifests compassion and love through her body and mind. She has strong embracing power.
During a recent training session, Shyla and I were Facilitating a group together. When I suggested that we experiment with a new methodology, Shyla was willing to experiment and explore. By being this way, my need for experiment with the methodology was met. Shyla was co-facilitating a workshop with a multi-national company in Sriperumbudu, Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu, India. She spend meaningful and quality time with me in designing the workshop activities and my need for participation and support was met. Over many years of association with me, I have observed Shyla who has been empathetic towards people around her and towards me too. By being this way, she fulfils the need for listening which people appreciate her for. Recently I was having a conversation with Shyla. She was fully present in every moment of our conversation. My need for attention was met with Shyla’s full and complete presence. Shyla often shares with me that it is only the present moment that exists. I have noticed Shyla not unnecessarily worried about the future and hold no regrets about the past. Shyla is a learner. I have seen her enrol herself in professional courses and get certified and also practice her learning both in her personal life and professional life. Whenever I meet her she never fails to share her new learning and also get feedback from me on how I see her.
Shyla operates from the region of unknown which helps in the self-discovery process. She is open to new ideas and concepts. She also gives confidence to explore new areas for me and be there physically/emotionally/spiritually which gives tremendous confidence to explore new concepts and new directions. She plays a role of confidant so that I explore my vulnerability openly thereby exploring my new direction. Shyla’s involvement and active listening in discussions helps to catch the block in the thought process/perspective and also bring them in the discussion candidly and amicably that helps to bring awareness to me. Because of her active involvement, I pushed myself beyond Her genuineness / warmth in helping me come across in her coaching conversation. She has put tremendous effort and homework at her end to put forth a coaching conversation into an appropriate model. And thereby showing new awareness in an emphatically. Shyla always be present during my coaching conversation with her. She catches the right word/ right emotion because of her present moment awareness. Because of her present awareness, she catches it early and thereby exploring the roots of the issue during the coaching conversation. Celebrate new awareness and learning new skills When I explored my new horizons by overcoming my laziness, I celebrated my immediate milestone. She was geniuinely happy for success and new learning. Without her constant interest in growth and push, I would not have achieved my goals. That is when, new celebration happens.
